The BMX Philosophies
I'm a true rider, bro!
Maybe this is not an absolute thing but many BMX riders consider that BMX is not just a hobby, sports, or just a way to having fun. Deep in it they consider BMX is a way of life. They just put all of their love into this.

BMX Is Not Crime
This philosophy was taken from all BMX riders from all categories such as freestyle BMX, street park, street spot, flatland, and many others. Because regular folks consider BMX is just a meaningless thing for clueless teenagers who willing to hurt themselves, this extreme sport was often banned without any clear reason. Most people afraid that BMX riders will often do the vandalism and harm the public facility.

Ride for glory
This words was always mentioned by Rick Thorne, one of the BMX pro riders. Words from him should be the philosophy for all riders, because they should be proud of their identity as BMX riders.

Seek and Destroy
This slogan was often cheered to riders while they were doing their special tricks or checking the unknown riding spots. It was cheered by the supporters or people who happened to watch them while performing. "Seek and Destroyed" was a title of a movie dedicated to BMX on 2003 and was sponsored by Little Devil. The intention of this movie was to encourage the riders to suppress all of their fears and anxieties while doing the tricks including advanced tricks that could be more riskier and dangerous. It is a really satisfying personal experience if we could do the tricks that we dreamed of while on the same time could successfully conquer our fears.

Give to the strength of our community
This words was mentioned by the BMX legend Matt Hoffman aka The Condor. This words was popularized by a movie called "Road Fools Rock n Roll". This mantra must be remembered by all BMX riders for them to be aware and care to all fellow BMX riders by strengthening the bonds between them. Matt Hoffman said that because he just wanted to show his simpathy for Stephen Murray, a pro rider, who got paralyzed after a failure to deliver a double backflip trick. Many pro riders from all over the world raised money by doing voluntary charities to help him and gave him moral supports. Notable pro riders who helped him including Matt Hoffman, TJ Lavin, Cory Nastazio, Chase Hawk, Morgan Wade, Garret Reynolds, Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, Steve Cramdal, Van Homan, Scoty Creamer, Gary Young, Neil Harrington, and many others. That was signs that we should care to each other.

Maybe only those things that we know from BMX philosophies. Maybe it was begun from slogans but it was turns out to be a philosophy for many BMX riders. It is not an absolute and standardized things, but we should have principles and philosophies in life, especially as a BMX rider.
